Voice, Performance and Work in Electronic Music

Hannah Bosma / Anna Clementi / Marie-Louise Herzfeld-Schild / Kim Feser

Part of the Festival Heroines of Sound

Keynote: Hannah Bosma (musicologist, University of Amsterdam)
Participants: Hannah Bosma, Anna Clementi (singer/composer), Marie-Louise Herzfeld-Schild (musicologist, University of Cologne), Sabine Sanio (musicologist, Berlin)

Keeping in mind the electronic modification and transformation of the female voice, the discussion on Friday will look into various questions that are also central for electronic music composed by women. While singers always attract great attention in the constellation of work, interpretation and performance, the collaboration between interpreters and composers always remains a decisive one. Many interpreters go a step further at some point with their own performances, making themselves independent from the compositional authority by claiming this task for themselves.
