Raúl Zelik

Raúl Zelik works as a writer and translator and has been active in the Internationalism Movement, and several anti-fascist and anti-racist groups since the 1980s. Zelik‘s work as a writer and activist focuses on social movements, post-capitalism, and global solidarity. In 2005 he was nominated for the German book prize. He has been following the political developments in Spain for many years and in the past decades he has lived in both Latin America and southern Europe. Between 2009 and 2013 he was professor of political science at the National University of Colombia. In 2012 Zelik published the novel "Der Eindringling" [The Intruder] (edition suhrkamp, 2012). Since 2015 he works as a cultural correspondent of the Swiss newspaper WOZ. Recently he has published: "Im Multiversum des Kapitals" [In the Multiverse of Capital] (VSA Verlag, 2016), "Mit PODEMOS zur demokratischen Revolution? : Krise und Aufbruch in Spanien" [With PODEMOS to the democratic revolution? : Crisis and awakening in Spain] (Bertz + Fischer, 2015), "Vermessung der Utopie" [Measuring Utopia] (together with Elmar Altvater, updated edition, Bertz&Fischer, 2015). As of 2016 he is a member of the executive committee of the German party DIE LINKE [The Left].
