Sachiko Hara

Sachiko Hara was born in the prefecture of Kanagawa in 1965. She studied German at Tokyo's Sophia University, and since 1984 has worked as an actor, primarily in avant-garde theatre productions. In 1999 Hara met Christoph Schlingensieff and was a member of “Deutchlandsuche”. This was followed by many years of collaboration with the director as well as with Nicolas Stemann. From 2004 to 2009 Hara was engaged at the Burgtheater in Vienna, and from 2009 to 2013 in the ensemble at Schauspiel Hannover, where she still regularly invites visitors to a very personal encounter with the city under the title “Hiroshima Salon”, reporting on Japan after the recent catastrophe. Starting in 2013, Hara is a member of the ensemble at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg.
