What Up Doe

Part of "Detroit– Berlin: One Circle"

Building on the success of her first recorded track, Detroit Is Black, featured as a Favorite Dance Track in February 2017 by NPR All Songs Considered, interdisciplinary artist Tiff Massey has created a new suite of songs based on her experiences from growing up in Detroit to becoming a well known visual artist, and dealing with obstructionists along the way. Massey has gained a reputation for saying things out loud that most people don't want to acknowledge, and utilizes her platform as an artist to shift the narratives and conversations about old school Detroiters where citizens of the city wouldn't otherwise have a voice. With influences from hip-hop to house music, if you wanna hear that real Detroit, this is that real Detroit. And that beat is bangin than a muthafucka. For this one-time performance, Massey will be joined on stage by her long-time friend and MC/ Singer/ Songwriter Monica Blaire
