DANCE ON EXTENDED: show to be true

Part of "OUT OF NOW / DANCE ON Festival"

DANCE ON EXTENDED is a collaboration between the Swedish company Charlotta Öfverholm/Age on Stage and the DANCE ON ENSEMBLE, part of the Creative Europe-funded project “Dance On, Pass On, Dream On”. During a five-week residence in Piteå, northern Sweden, in 2017, choreographer Johannes Wieland and eight dancers from both companies created the physical theatre piece show to be true. With arresting performances by the eight strong personalities in the cast, it reflects the menace and absurdity of the current social and political climate: “Lies forever! Let us bend and twist. Let us pretend. Let us mislead and deceive. Let us embrace total irrationality. Yes, exactly – let us just keep on bending and twisting, pretending, misleading and deceiving!” (Johannes Wieland)
