Myriam Van Imschoot’s intermedial approach is based on gestures, phenomena, and voices that have been lost or remain unnoticed. In “What Nature Says,“ six performers imitate their 'natural surroundings’ solely with the help of their voices and bodies. Birdsong, but also chainsaws, play a crucial role in a performance that oscillates between listening and watching. This ecological fairytale speaks, with a sense of urgency and futility, of human and animalistic attempts to communicate.
